Friday Giveaway: My (Not So) Perfect Life by Sophie Kinsella

Our winner is Linda M. Congratulations.

TGIF! Another weekend begins…soon. The kids (*cough* husband) are very excited to see Spiderman this weekend. Aaannnd that’s as exciting as I get this weekend.

Don’t you hate those people on social media who are always posting their pictures of how awesome their vacations are or what fabulous thing they are doing right now, especially when you are just sitting at home checking your Facebook or Twitter notices?

Well this week’s giveaway is a new story by Sophie Kinsella where the main character, Katie, maybe exaggerates how awesome things are going for her, just a little bit, and then her not so perfect life takes a turn for the worst when she gets fired.

To enter this week’s giveaway just confess to all of us — Are you constantly posting on social media? Is there a constant stream of pictures of your dog/cat/boyfriend-to-be going up on Instagram? Can you not begin to eat lunch without taking a picture of it first and posting it on your Facebook status?

Giveaway ends Thursday, July 13th. Open to U.S. residents, 18 years and older.

Thank you to Random House for this week’s giveaway.

Katie Brenner has the perfect life: a flat in London, a glamorous job, and a super-cool Instagram feed.

Ok, so the real truth is that she rents a tiny room with no space for a wardrobe, has a hideous commute to a lowly admin job, and the life she shares on Instagram isn’t really hers.

But one day her dreams are bound to come true, aren’t they?

Until her not-so perfect life comes crashing down when her mega-successful boss Demeter gives her the sack. All Katie’s hopes are shattered. She has to move home to Somerset, where she helps her dad with his new glamping business.

Then Demeter and her family book in for a holiday, and Katie sees her chance. But should she get revenge on the woman who ruined her dreams? Or try to get her job back? Does Demeter – the woman with everything – have such an idyllic life herself? Maybe they have more in common than it seems.

And what’s wrong with not-so-perfect, anyway?

I’m a lurker. I love being able to keep up with authors and book bloggers but I don’t post myself. I will use my Twitter account to promote books or links.

I’m not a big social poster. I do check my facebook, instagram, and twitter accounts once or twice a week but I don’t post on them.
