Friday Giveaway: Ain’t She a Peach by Molly Harper

Posted June 15, 2018 by Lucy D in Contests & Giveaways / 12 Comments

Our winner is…Texas Book Lover. Congratulations.

Hello all, and Happy Friday! Summer may finally be on its way. It has been shockingly cold around her for June. The kids are almost done with school and it’s time to start thinking about going to the beach. Is it wrong to start vacation plans with what you will be reading on the beach?

I have a couple of paper books that I have been saving for beachtime since I do not go near the water with my electronics. It will be a hard decision but I think I will be grabbing my copy of Lake Silence by Anne Bishop and First Step Forwrad by Liora Blake. I also have a copy of Reincarnation Blues by Michael Poore, which I started on the beach last year and never got around to finishing. Those are all very different books since I am not sure what I will be in the mood for and these are new authors to me so you always need to make sure to have extra reading in case something doesn’t grab you.

Who else packs their books first for vacation? Do you have something saved up just for vacation/summer reading? Leave a comment to be entered.

Giveaway ends Thursday, June 21st. Open to U.S. residents, 18 years and older.

An Atlanta ex-cop comes to sleepy Lake Sackett, Georgia, seeking peace and quiet—but he hasn’t bargained on falling for Frankie, the cutest coroner he’s ever met.

Frankie McCready talks to dead people. Not like a ghost whisperer or anything—but it seems rude to embalm them and not at least say hello.

Fortunately, at the McCready Family Funeral Home & Bait Shop, Frankie’s eccentricities fit right in. Lake Sackett’s embalmer and county coroner, Frankie’s goth styling and passion for nerd culture mean she’s not your typical Southern girl, but the McCreadys are hardly your typical Southern family. Led by Great-Aunt Tootie, the gambling, boozing, dog-collecting matriarch of the family, everyone looks out for one another—which usually means getting up in everyone else’s business.

Maybe that’s why Frankie is so fascinated by new sheriff Eric Linden…a recent transplant from Atlanta, he sees a homicide in every hunting accident or boat crash, which seems a little paranoid for this sleepy tourist town. What’s he so worried about? And what kind of cop can get a job with the Atlanta PD but can’t stand to look at a dead body?

Frankie has other questions that need answering first—namely, who’s behind the recent break-in attempts at the funeral home, and how can she stop them? This one really does seem like a job for the sheriff—and as Frankie and Eric do their best Scooby-Doo impressions to catch their man, they get closer to spilling some secrets they thought were buried forever.

I always make sure to finish what ever I am reading before my vacation and then I pack three things: a classic piece of literature (I’m partial to Bronte’s or Austin’s), something current, and my Kindle. Then I I start on the rest of my stuff.

Yes, I think about my books first. What is loaded on my Kindle that I want to read, do I want to bring a paperback? If I have several that I want to read, I make a list and stick it in my Kindle so I don’t forget.

I just take my kindle and read whatever my mood calls for. If you haven’t read Anne Bishop’s Others series yet you really need to start at the beginning to get the proper feel for it or you’ll miss to much!

My adoptive mom loves this series and recommended it to me. I haven’t started it yet though. I’m waiting to finish up another series before I start a new one.

Absolutely! Went to the beach last week and I saved Rebecca Zanetti’s Faith’s Vampire and Suzanne Wright’s Wild Hunger just for the trip😄
    Perfect oceanfront reading!

I usually just take my Kindle, which has many, many books on it, so I have a choice for whatever mood I’m in.
