Hello my book friends. We are coming to the end of the year and while I failed on my Goodreads goal, I do see many great books and series on this year’s reading list. On the top of my favorites for 2018, I present the following:
From Kevin Hearne, we had the final Iron Druid novel, Scourged. While, Ilona Andrews, gave us the final Kate Daniels’ novel, Magic Triumphs. Ilona Andrews also gave us the first spinoff novel to that series, Iron and Magic. And while it is not new, I caught up on their Hidden Legacy trilogy series which will be continued in 2019.
Another series that I was a late comer to and was able to binge listen to was Anne Bishop’s The Others series which gives an interesting twist on shifters as her shifters are not humans who turn into animals but animals who can turn human. While it might not seem like a big difference, these animals see humans as nothing more than clever meat and don’t like when the humans decide they want more than they have earned.
Rebecca Zanetti has returned to her Dark Protectors series with Vampire’s Faith. I just finished Demon’s Mark, a great addition to the series, which comes out in early January and which featured Logan, who has become one of my favorite characters in the series.
For those who don’t like their romance with a hint of fang, Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang was a phenomenal story and not only have they sold the rights to a production company but it won the Goodread Best Romance for 2018. Another of my favorite contemporary stories from 2018, was Melt for You by J.T. Geissinger. I have sat down with Cam and Joellen several times since I first read this book in April. I just love their chemistry.
For our final giveaway for 2018 (which kind of has a Christmas theme), I have two eBook copies of Melt for You.
Just leave a comment and tell us the name of the best book you read in 2018.
Giveaway open to anyone with a Kindle account, although I make no guaranties. Giveaway ends Thursday, January 3, 2019.
A wallflower gets seduction tips from a playboy athlete—until love changes the rules.
Socially awkward Joellen Bixby has a date every Saturday—with her cat, a pint of ice cream, and fantasies of the way-too-handsome Michael Maddox. She’d give anything to win over the unattainable CEO of her firm, but how can she when she blends in so well with her cubicle? The answer may be closer than she thinks.
Cameron McGregor is a cocky, tattooed Scottish rugby captain who just moved in next door. He’s not Jo’s type—at all—but the notorious playboy is offering to teach the wallflower everything he knows about inspiring desire. Though a lot of women have rumpled Cam’s kilt, Jo is special. Far from the ugly duckling she thinks she is, in Cam’s eyes she’s sharp, funny, and effortlessly sexy. Now, thanks to him, Jo is blooming with confidence and has the man of her dreams within reach.
Unfortunately for Cam, he’s just helped to push the woman of his dreams into the arms of another man—and now he’s in the fight of his life to keep this beauty from getting away.
