Happy Friday to all!
I found something very exciting yesterday when I was helping someone start a Kindle account. You can now mark your books as “Read” and little flag will pop up across the cover.
This is something I have wanted for the last eight years since I purchased my first Nook Color. After eight years of doing reviews, I have over 1200 books and over 500 review books sitting in my Kindle library. Flipping through covers, and most review copies have no covers at all, it was hard to remember which ones I read and which ones I skipped over. I spent quite awhile yesterday just scrolling through the review books listed and in the end, there were about 130 that I either haven’t ever read or I couldn’t figure it out by the title alone when I searched on Goodreads. There are a few that simply say “new file” and I will need to track those down on my Kindle, open them up and see which books those are. Now that I will be able to search through these unread copies quicker, I am going to try and make an effort to pull an older book out of the pile and give it a read.
My Kindle is currently on loan so I am not sure if you can do it directly from your Kindle or if you need to do like I was doing and review the content file on amazon.com and click the “mark as read” button. Now, you might tell me that your Kindle has been doing this for quite awhile now, but I didn’t know. Heck, I sent an email to Amazon years ago to tell them that we need to be able to mark the books as read with a flag like you see on new books. Now we finally can. Yay!
Ah, the simple things that make a book nerd happy.
There are slim pickins on my bookshelf right now, so this week’s giveaway is an eBook copy of a Sarina Bowens novel. I have a copy myself which unfortunately didn’t get it’s Read flag yet.
Just leave a comment to be entered in this week’s giveaway. Giveaway ends Thursday, July 4th. Open to U.S. residents. (There appears to be an issue with international winners. Sorry.) I will be picking winners on our last few giveaways and getting to the post office this weekend. Promise.
A sexy new standalone from USA Today bestseller Sarina Bowen.
You’d think a billion dollars, a professional hockey team and a six-bedroom mansion on the Promenade would satisfy a guy. You’d be wrong.
For seven years Rebecca has brightened my office with her wit and her smile. She manages both my hockey team and my sanity. I don’t know when I started waking in the night, craving her. All I know is that one whiff of her perfume ruins my concentration. And her laugh makes me hard.
When Rebecca gets hurt, I step in to help. It’s what friends do. But what friends don’t do is rip off each others’ clothes for a single, wild night together.
Now she’s avoiding me. She says we’re too different, and it can never happen again. So why can’t we keep our hands off each other?
