Friday Giveaway: Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon by Kerrelyn Sparks

Our winner is…Elizabeth. Congratulations.

Happy Friday!

Are we happy or sad to see the end of summer? This has been a crazy year but surviving quarantine and all this nonsense during the spring and summer while I could get outside is one thing. Going into the Fall and Winter when it starts getting cold…yuck.

Life is starting to settle down around here. My daughter is off to college, the puppy almost makes it the entire night and I can almost enjoy a book without falling asleep. I did puppy-proof my office so I can at least get on the computer and let her roam around. I do have an emergency bucket of puppy treats available if she gets out of hand and we need to work on obedience training.

How is everyone doing as we end the summer? Did anyone go on vacation? I know some states have opened up more than others. My extended family and I are missing the beach big time this year. We all get together every other year at least and pool our funds on a large beach house. Obviously, it was not to be this year. But thankfully Facebook keeps reminding me what I am missing out on with posts from prior years. ๐Ÿ™

Since this week marked the final novel in the Kerrelyn Sparks’ Embraced series, I thought it was a good time for a copy of Eight Simple Rules for Dating a Dragon. This giveaway is for a U.S. Kindle copy.

Giveaway ends Thursday, September 3rd.

Gwennore has a talent. An Elf able to track down the cause of an illness and heal it, sheโ€™s a valuable asset to her people. When the kidnapping of a young girl thrusts Gwennore into the very heart of the realm of the dragons, she discovers not only a place of power and magic, but also a haunted land, plagued by an ancient curse that all but ensures extinction to the royal family. But when she meets the smoldering General Silas Dravenko, they strike a bargainโ€”save the country from its cursed illness, and he will return the kidnapped girl. Sheโ€™s been raised never to trust a dragon, but never did making a deal with the devil feel so goodโ€ฆ

Silas has no way of curing the family heโ€™s loyally served for years. But when a beautiful elf, long considered the enemy of the dragons, comes bursting into his world, Silas is awakened to passion and desire in a way heโ€™s never felt before. But can he trust a sworn enemy to save the very existence he holds dear? And can their love survive those that threaten to tear them apart?

  1. On one hand, I’m sad the summer is ending. I don’t usually like the summer because it’s just too hot for me, but on the other hand I’m not ready for the fall to come.

Well I take care of my father now and my days are never boring with his early stages of dementia. Toss in a toy Aussie Shepard that turned 1 in June and Tank the pug I have 3hams keeping me laughing during the summer. Now I’m ready for fall

I am so happy the summer is ending! I don’t like the hot weather. Fall is my favorite season and I’m very much looking forward to it! This series has been on my TBR list for a while and I’d love to win a copy! Thanks for the Friday giveaways!

There was no vacation for my family or friends this year. There has been so much going on, and with COVID-19 someone in every house has a preexisting condition that will make matters worse. From being pre-diabetic to my brother with stage 4 cancer. So enough of that. The good news is that we believe we have found a workaround. We are al trying to pool our money to rent a beach house for Thanksgiving. The idea is that it’s the offseason, so it will be cheaper and less populated. Combined with the notion that no one was actually planning on getting in the water, we will have a great view from the house.
So saying prayers every night, that Mike doesn’t get worse (current in the hospital getting chemo and might have to have surgery Friday), Thanksgiving will be a sort of family vacation and reading material is always needed.

I am sorry your family was hit so hard. I hope you work out the details and can get that beach house. I would still be sitting on the beach with my book, even if I needed a winter jacket and a blankie or two. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hey, any tips on house training a puppy? My daughter recently got one, and she brings it over to my house on days when she has to work doubles so she won’t basically be alone for the whole weekend.

Always remember to take them out as soon as they wake up from a nap and take the water away at 8 p.m so they can make it through the night. My little princess doesn’t like to get her paws wet so we are having a problem on rainy days. She walks on the grass like a cat with socks on.
