Happy pre-Halloween Friday!
It is time to move on from our vacation-themed stories, and then I found a few witch-themed stories just in time for Halloween. Score!
I have a question for you and I might have asked this of you already– do you delete books off of your eReaders if you don’t like them? If I have a paperback book which I didn’t like, I donate them to the library. I don’t even bother using them for giveaways since I didn’t like it, I assume you won’t like it either. But I seem to have a harder time making the decision to delete a book from my digital library and I don’t understand why. A few times I start a book and it isn’t grabbing me so I put it aside, then I waffle on getting rid of it because “Was I just not in the mood?” “Maybe, I’ll try picking it up again.” (Hint: Hasn’t happened yet.) Even if I absolutely hated it, I don’t delete it. I sometime flip through my library and make an “eww” as I pass it, but yet, I still won’t delete it.
There are books I love and I read them over and over again. There are some series that I will begin again if I am in the right mood, but never have I returned to a book that I set aside because I wasn’t enjoying it. And it isn’t just because several friends and family members have access to my account and my library of books. I should be deleting them to save anyone from stumbling upon a crappy book and thinking I must have like it since it is in my library.
I think I am going to make a resolution to myself to flip through my library and delete at least three crappy books before next Friday and see if I don’t spontaneously combust because I lost three digital books that I am never gonna read.
Let me know–do you delete digital books from your virtual shelves?
Giveaway is for a paperback copy and open to U.S. residents only. Giveaway ends Thursday, October 12th.
Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the teahouse…
Miss Charlotte Pettifer belongs to a secret league of women skilled in the subtle arts. That is to say—although it must never be said—witchcraft. The League of Gentlewomen Witches strives to improve the world in small ways. Using magic, they tidy, correct, and manipulate according to their notions of what is proper, entirely unlike those reprobates in the Wisteria Society.
When the long lost amulet of Black Beryl is discovered, it is up to Charlotte, as the future leader of the League, to make sure the powerful talisman does not fall into the wrong hands. Therefore, it is most unfortunate when she crosses paths with Alex O’Riley, a pirate who is no Mr. Darcy. With all the world scrambling after the amulet, Alex and Charlotte join forces to steal it together. If only they could keep their pickpocketing hands to themselves! If Alex’s not careful, he might just steal something else—such as Charlotte’s heart.
Typically, my Kindle only contains unread books (plus a few that I like to reread). Once I’ve read a book, I delete it off my physical Kindle, but of course it still remains in my virtual account in the cloud. Once in awhile, though, I do actually delete books from the cloud if I really disliked them or if I tried something else by that author and didn’t like it. Otherwise, since e-files can’t be donated to a library, everything I’ve read in the past 12 years is still in my cloud account.
yes
Omg certainly not! Lol only ever delete duplicates.
Nope Nope Nope
I usually remove ebooks from my Kindle after I’ve completed them, except when I really liked the book and wish to read it again. Thanks for the giveaway!
