Friday Giveaway: Play for Me by Libby Hubscher

Our winner is…Jen M. Congratulations!

Happy Friday!

Projects, projects, projects. I am trying so hard to finish Into the Weeds but I am so tired by the time I sit down, I keep falling asleep. Wah! I did get all the painting finished and I also pulled out the paint for the kitchen because apparently a giant must have come into my kitchen and started banged on my walls as there was more than one place way high up where paint was chipped off. I don’t understand how that was possible, but it is fixed now.

Let’s get back to fun things that the summer brings and this week’s fun includes baseball with Play For Me by Libby Hubscher.

Does anyone catch the games for their local teams? I haven’t been to a Yankee game since the kids were little. We have been given free tickets so we decided to take the kids to their first baseball game. They ran out of things to eat by the fifth inning and were ready to leave. I think we stuck it out to the seventh inning before we finally gave in and took them home. I don’t think they looked at the baseball part once.

Giveaway is for a paperback copy and open to US residents only. Giveaway ends Thursday, (OMG it’s already August) August 3rd.

When her new job takes her to a New England boarding school, she’s surprised to find her roommates are all men – including a very handsome one who plays by his own rules.

Sophie Doyle has her dream job as the head athletic trainer for her favorite baseball team (go Red Sox!), a handsome boyfriend, and easy access to the finest cannoli in Boston. When she loses all three and the World Series to boot, she’s forced to apply for the open trainer position at an arts-focused boarding school in New Hampshire. The only available room is a glorified closet in an apartment with three guys: Jonas Voss, the aloof and attractive orchestra teacher, and his two rambunctious roommates.

Sophie knows that training a bunch of privileged high school kids whose idea of a play is A Chorus Line instead of a walk-off homer is going to be a big change from the pro athletes she’s used to. She wasn’t expecting that these students would have big-time talent and even bigger-time problems. Sophie has troubles of her own—Jonas is a full-fledged grump who clearly doesn’t want her near him or the precious piano he never plays.

With sunny optimism, Sophie sets out to win over Jonas and help the kids she’s growing attached to. But when her relationship with Jonas moves to the major leagues and plans change at the end of the season, they have to choose whether they are playing for keeps.

Lol half the time I watch our team the end up losing. Not sure if they’re the jinx or I am?! But it’s always a good game either way.

We used to sneak away from the office for the occasional afternoon game but I haven’t been for a long time. Friends who still go tell me it’s really different now due to all of the changes they’ve put in to speed up the game.

Sounds like a fun story. Have to admit that baseball is boring to me so I don’t go to any games or even watch on TV. Good luck with your projects! Thanks for the chance.

I know! I can’t believe it’s August already. There’s one month of summer left, and I am so done with heat and humidity. I also miss my sweatshirts. 😄 Good luck with your projects!
