Our winner is…Library Addict. Congratulations

Happy December!

OMG, it’s finally December!! It’s been a long year. Right now I want to eat Christmas cookies, fall into a sugar coma and awaken for a glass a champagne on New Years. That’s not wrong, is it?

Do any of you work retail? You have my respect and apologies. I tried to take on a seasonal job for some extra holiday cash. My second day was the infamous, Black Friday. You can imagine how well that went but actually it wasn’t the “help the customers” part of the job that sucked but the being locked in until 2 a.m. prepping for the next day part that pushed me out. My 5 1/2 hour shift turned into 8 hours on my aching legs while I stood around asking each person what I could do to help them since management wasn’t giving me any instructions on what I should be doing to reset the store, and no one goes home ’til it’s all done even if you were scheduled to leave at 11:30. Needless to say, no one in my family was happy that I was out until 2 a.m., including me, and I promptly quit.  That’s okay especially since I got to spend the rest of the weekend with my girls hanging out and playing games  while they were home.   Everyone be nice to the people working in the stores.

I got a wonderful delivery of books from Berkley so this week I have a copy of the new Nalini Singh thriller, There Should Have Been Eight, to giveaway. Did you have a chance to read either of her prior thrillers?

This giveaway is for a hardcover copy and is open to U.S. residents only. (International shipping is too expensive.) Giveaway ends Thursday, December 7th.

In this chilling thriller from New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh, a remote estate in New Zealand’s Southern Alps hosts a reunion no one will ever forget.

Seven friends.

One last weekend.

A mansion half in ruins.

No room for lies.

Someone is going to confess.

Because there should have been eight. . . .

They met when they were teenagers. Now they’re adults, and time has been kind to some and unkind to others—none more so than to Bea, the one they lost nine long years ago.

They’ve gathered to reminisce at Bea’s family’s estate, a once-glorious mansion straight out of a gothic novel. Best friends, old flames, secret enemies, and new lovers are all under one roof. But when the weather turns and they’re snowed in at the edge of eternity, there’s nowhere left to hide from their shared history.

As the walls close in, the pretense of normality gives way to long-buried grief, bitterness, and rage. Underneath it all, there’s the nagging feeling that Bea’s shocking death wasn’t what it was claimed to be. And before the weekend is through, the truth will be unleashed—no matter the cost. . . .

I have not, but don’t enter me as my library has it. I didn’t know New Zealand had a southern Alps. I obviously need to learn more about our world.

I love your plan, sounds perfect to me, so no it’s not wrong. I’ve worked retail for years and yes it sucks and those that still work it deserves lots of respect and courtesy, especially at this time of the year! I love Nalini Singh’s books, but I haven’t had a chance to read her thrillers yet, but I have them on my list! (hmmm, I just realized I haven’t transferred them to my wish list for Santa, I need to get right on that!) Happy Holidays!
