Our winner is…Jordan. Congratulations.

Happy Friday!

How is everyone? Is it Spring yet?

I’ve noticed a trend lately where a few of the authors that I follow and receive their newsletters are moving to a pay-for service. In exchange for paying for their newsletters you will get special bonus content, short stories or bonus material from fellow authors. I mean who doesn’t like extra bonus material from favorite authors but I think I would have to think long and hard about whose bonus material is worth paying extra for or suddenly all your monthly book money is paying for an author’s behind the scenes. What are your thoughts on that?

Earlier this week I discussed the new Ali Hazelwood paranormal series which will begin with Bride. It is a good paranormal romance with some quirky world-building. I enjoyed the story and will have to wait and see if those issues grow on me or just ruin the flow.

This week’s giveaway is for a paperback copy and is open to U.S. residents only. Giveaway ends Thursday, January 18th.

Just leave a comment to be entered.

A dangerous alliance between a Vampyre bride and an Alpha Werewolf becomes a love deep enough to sink your teeth into in this new paranormal romance from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Love, Theoretically and The Love Hypothesis.

Misery Lark, the only daughter of the most powerful Vampyre councilman of the Southwest, is an outcast—again. Her days of living in anonymity among the Humans are over: she has been called upon to uphold a historic peacekeeping alliance between the Vampyres and their mortal enemies, the Weres, and she sees little choice but to surrender herself in the exchange—again…

Weres are ruthless and unpredictable, and their Alpha, Lowe Moreland, is no exception. He rules his pack with absolute authority, but not without justice. And, unlike the Vampyre Council, not without feeling. It’s clear from the way he tracks Misery’s every movement that he doesn’t trust her. If only he knew how right he was….

Because Misery has her own reasons to agree to this marriage of convenience, reasons that have nothing to do with politics or alliances, and everything to do with the only thing she’s ever cared about. And she is willing to do whatever it takes to get back what’s hers, even if it means a life alone in Were territory…alone with the wolf.

As much as I love bonus content and extra short stories I don’t think I could pay a monthly fee for the chance of them.

The one author I was looking into noted that he would have his usual narrator put them together at the end of the year for, I believe, a free download to subscribers. I would imagine he would sell them at some point after putting the time and money into the production.

I have loved everything I’ve ever read by Ali Hazelwood. I can’t wait to read Bride! Please enter me!
At this time, I don’t pay to follow any author. I don’t see that changing, but I won’t say never.
    Thanks for the chance!

I’m not a fan of the pay-for-service either and skip memberships into authors newsletters that are switching to that format. As great as bonus content may be for a book I just cannot.

I just recently got on the Ali Hazelwood train and glommed up her entire book list in about a week. Can’t wait to read this one too, thanks for the giveaway opportunity!

No, I don’t think I’ll pay a monthly fee to access special bonus content. I’d rather use that money to buy books. 😄 I can’t wait to read Bride! Thank you for the amazing giveaway!

I don’t think there has ever been a book written more perfectly for me. This has ALL the tropes I look for in one book. And the fact that Ali Hazelwood is the author??? My heart can’t take it! I’ve never wanted a book in my hands so badly!
