Happy Friday!
We have to make this quick before I leave for work. My daughter came back from college last weekend with a list of shows we needed to watch together. All week we have been binging a BBC show, which only has one British actor and takes place in Seattle, WA, called “Dirk Gently, Holistic Detective Agency.” Dirk sees how all the weird things happening are interconnected and eventually solves the mystery. It also stars Elijah Wood, who I like, and contains very unique and interesting characters. It has a paranormal element to it, obviously, especially the second and final season, as it was cancelled after only the two seasons. We have been having fun with it.
So reading time and blogging time have been at a minimum this week. We should be finishing this weekend and I am not sure what is next. I have assigned her homework as she is behind in Prodigal Son. I will let you know if she introduces me anything else interesting.
In honor of Dirk Gently detective and his paranormal element, I think this week’s giveaway needs to be Burn for Me by Ilona Andrews which features Nevada Baylor and the Baylor Detective Agency and people with magical abilities.
Giveaway ends Thursday, May 20th. This giveaway is for a U.S. Kindle version of the story. Please make sure you are able to download before you enter.
As I am running out the door, just leave a quick comment to be entered. (I’ll come back later to clean this up, add banners, etc.)
Happy weekend reading, all!
Nevada Baylor is faced with the most challenging case of her detective career—a suicide mission to bring in a suspect in a volatile situation. Nevada isn’t sure she has the chops. Her quarry is a Prime, the highest rank of magic user, who can set anyone and anything on fire.
Then she’s kidnapped by Connor “Mad” Rogan—a darkly tempting billionaire with equally devastating powers. Torn between wanting to run and wanting to surrender to their overwhelming attraction, Nevada must join forces with Rogan to stay alive.
Rogan’s after the same target, so he needs Nevada. But she’s getting under his skin, making him care about someone other than himself for a change. And, as Rogan has learned, love can be as perilous as death, especially in the magic world.
sounds interesting
That sounds like a good book!
I was wondering what happened to you. At least you getting to spend some quality time together.
