Halloween Interview with the vampires of Vampirerotique

PicMonkey - Guys #2

Thank you for having me here today to get everyone in the mood for Halloween! I’ve taken a trip into London to the beautiful old theatre building, Vampirerotique, where I’m meeting with the vampire heroes of my Vampire Erotic Theatre series. They all run the theatre together and we’re all good friends now that I’ve completed writing their series, so hopefully I’ll be leaving at the end of the interview with my neck intact.

I’ve gathered everyone into Antoine’s office. It’s a little cramped with six men in it with me, but I’m not going to complain. I’m sitting sideways on one corner of the huge dark wooden desk. Antoine occupies his seat behind the desk to my left, leaning back in the executive leather chair.

Snow sits beside his brother, perched on the desk at the opposite corner to me, casually leaning with his arms behind him, propping himself up on his palms. To my right, Payne lounges in a chair with his bare feet up on the desk and his hands locked behind his head. He had wanted to put his boots up on Antoine’s desk, but the ancient aristocrat vampire had quickly shot that idea down. To Payne’s right sit the brothers Javier and Andreu, and Callum has the seat nearest Snow.

Felicity: Hello, boys! It’s great to meet up with you again. I’ve invaded your beautiful theatre and gathered you all together to talk about Halloween.

Antoine: *raises eyebrow* Seriously? You interrupted our workday to talk about a ridiculous mortal interpretation of what is a hallowed and important event for many?

Felicity: *nods* That is exactly what I’m saying. Come on, Antoine. This is all meant to be a little fun.

Antoine: *grumbles*

Snow: *places his hand on Antoine’s shoulder* Excuse my brother. He is feeling under pressure. The new season begins on Halloween.

Felicity: Ah. I didn’t realise it was a bad time. Well, I just have a few questions for you all. It will only take a few minutes of your time. Is everyone game?

Payne: *grinning* I’m game.

Callum: When aren’t you game? *smirks when Payne glares at him*

Snow: Must be that fairy dust in his veins.

Andreu & Javier: *snickers*

Payne: Would you like me to tell Elissa you were all ganging up on me again about my incubus side?

*everyone shakes their heads except Snow*

Snow: Tell her. She will not be mad with me.

Felicity: No female has the ability to remain mad at Snow. It’s impossible. Speaking of the women, I probably should have asked them to take part in this interview instead of you lot. I get the feeling it might have gone more smoothly. Here’s your first question: Do you celebrate Halloween?

Everyone: No!

Felicity: Because it is commercialised now? Or because seventy percent of people tend to go as vampires?

*they all glare at me*

Felicity: *shrugs* It’s true though. How does mortals dressing up as rather comical takes on vampires make you feel?

Antoine: Belittled.

Payne: What he said. I don’t get why no one dresses up as an incubus.

Snow: Most probably because it is difficult to tell incubi apart from mortals.

Callum: Isn’t that the point of an incubus’s appearance though? You dress and look like everyone else so you blend among them and can lure them into your trap.

Payne: *growls* I don’t lure people into my trap… just Elissa… and she needs no encouragement or luring.

Andreu: I can vouch for that. These two are worse than Javier and Lilah.

Javier: *cuffs his younger brother around the head*

Andreu: Hey. Lay off. The lot of you are at it like bunnies.

Snow: This from the male with a succubus for a partner?

Andreu: *growls, but I swear there’s a hint of blush on his cheeks* What was the question again?

Felicity: Nice deflection. I asked whether you find it offensive that everyone wants to dress how they imagine a vampire to be.

Antoine: They’re always walking past the theatre… opening night of the season, with some of the most important vampires in London attending the show, and we have drunk mortals with plastic fangs and black capes, waistcoats and medallions stumbling down the street. It is most irritating.

Snow: *tries hard not to smile* I think they offend my brother the most. I offered to shoo them away this year, but alas, Antoine said I was not allowed.

Payne: Yeah… that would be because your version of shooing involves baring real fangs and sharp claws, and flashing eyes that are definitely not cosmetic contact lenses. I hardly think Aurora would agree to it either.

Snow: *shrugs* She said no too.

Felicity: If you did go trick or treating one year, would you dress up or would you go au natural?

Snow: I would go as a vampire. I think it would be amusing.

Antoine: I think it would be dangerous. The vampire council are inundated every year with reports of vampires taking the opportunity to openly hunt among mortals on Halloween night and the ones surrounding it. The punishment for exposing yourself to mortals is severe.

Felicity: That sounds rude. *giggles* Exposing yourself to mortals.

Payne: *snorts* I never knew Antoine had it in him. Do you often exposure yourself to mortals, Antoine? I’m just asking because it really sounded like you have experience of this.

Antoine: *glares* Payne, need I remind you that you are only here by my leave? Would you like me to let you go? Since Callum and Javier are back at work, the theatre no longer requires any cover for them.

Payne: *clutches his groin* Low blow! You know we need to be here to keep Elissa safe from the bitches… I mean witches… in her ex-coven. Fine… I’ll reel in my tongue and behave myself. Better?

Snow: Antoine would never kick you out, Payne. He needs my consent as the other owner.

Antoine: *frowns at Snow* I think I miss the days when you weren’t an active manager or member of staff.

Snow: *grins* Now everyone answer Felicity’s question seriously. I think I would like to play a vampire.

Felicity: One of the corny, tacky costumed versions? *he nods* Cool.

Payne: I’d go as a male phantom… scary bastards. *shudders*

Callum: Werewolf. I can get make-up tips off Kristina (who is a werewolf and his wife).

Andreu: Incubus… although that’s a little like going as a homicidal maniac… I would just look like a human.

Javier: Ha! I would go as a human. That would be amusing.

Antoine: *raises an eyebrow* Must I go? *I nod* Very well. I would be a vampire with my brother.

Felicity: Very sweet. It’s nice that you want to stick with him. I’m guessing it’s not just to keep him company though. Worried he’d be off causing mayhem?

Antoine: *grave* The punishment for revealing yourself to mortals is VERY severe.

Felicity: Ah. I’m getting your drift now. Like… *runs finger across her throat* …severe? *he nods* Maybe you guys shouldn’t go trick or treating then. Do you think your ladies would dress up, or would they go au natural?

Snow: I would have to buy Aurora some wings… but then I am not sure that would make her happy. It might upset her.

Felicity: Maybe she could go as a lady vampire then, if you think she would be sensitive about her lost wings? *he nods* Would Sera go as a vampire with you, Antoine?

Antoine: Most definitely. I can imagine she would have fun dressing up for the occasion.

Payne: Elissa would go as a witch, that’s for sure… except we have to be careful when she leaves the theatre. We’ve been out a few times, but only to demon clubs and vampire bars where her coven won’t dare come after her.

Felicity: What about your little lad, Luca? Would he go male witch, vampire or phantom like you?

Payne: *laughs* Definitely a phantom. The kid still hangs off my shirt tails, as it were.

Callum: I think Kristina would love to run wild in her wolf form… but who will look after the kids? We would have to get a sitter or take them with us.

Andreu: My lovely luscious succubus would probably go as is… which means we’d be a perfect couple… an incubus and a succubus, who both look like normal mortals. No dressing up required.

Payne: Buddy… an incubus and a succubus do not a great couple make.

Andreu: *frowns* Guess you’re right about that. We could buck the trend.

Felicity: Javier? What would Lilah come as?

Javier: Smiles. Definitely a vampire. She probably has the most experience in mortal customs and would likely be able to source all the costumes for us too.

Felicity: Okay. So we have the costumes, but what about everything else. What movies would you show at a Halloween party? They have to be scary.

Antoine: Any of those romantic comedies that Sera adores would do then.

Payne: *laughs hard* I hear you! What is it with women and those sappy trashy films?

Antoine: *shrugs*

Felicity: Be serious. Scary movies?

Callum: I cannot remember the last time I watched anything other than children’s television programming. That frightens me enough.

Felicity: *leans over and pats his knee* Fatherhood is tough, huh?

Callum: *heaves a sigh* Kristina wears earplugs to shut out the television. My hearing is too sensitive for them. I can hear through them. There is no escape. *looks haunted*

Felicity: *tosses Antoine a look that warns he has all this to look forward to*

Antoine: Books. Any child of mine will be raised with books in their hands and toys. No infernal television. It will be educated from birth.

Felicity: You make me feel sorry for your future kid.

Snow: He says this, but the moment the child is driving him crazy, as Callum’s young do, he will set the child in front of the television with Callum’s children.

Antoine: No. *grins* I will send the child to see Uncle Snow.

Snow: And I will put the child in front of Callum’s television. *grins wickedly at his brother*

Andreu: I would put movies like that Underworld one on. The vampires in that one aren’t so bad. Or maybe some Tim Burton films. I like those.

Felicity: Not quite scary, but you have taste and they would work as Halloween movies. I guess horror films aren’t that scary anyway when you have fangs, live on blood and are immortal. So, we have costumes and movies. Would you carve pumpkins? You could have a competition to carve the best one. If you carved one, what would it look like?

Callum: A werewolf with cubs.

Felicity: You are sweet. Going for the Father of the Year award? *he smiles*

Snow: An angel taming a savage beast.

Felicity: Are we all going to carve scenes from our lives?

Javier: I would like to carve a skull into it… or several skulls. How big is a pumpkin?

Felicity: You can get them big enough for several skulls. Andreu?

Andreu: Hmm. I would carve a dragon. Chica would like that. I think it would beat the rest too.

Snow: *growls* Mine would be better.

Felicity: Now, now, boys… no fighting.

Antoine: A castle.

Snow: *face falls* Not a castle.

Antoine: *touches his shoulder* I am sorry. I wasn’t thinking. I have seen ones that resemble scary faces. Perhaps I could carve something horrific and ghoulish into it.

Felicity: Payne?

Payne: *grins* I saw some dirty ones once on the internet… but there was also this really cool one with a bigger pumpkin head eating a smaller one. I’d made that.

Felicity: And here I thought you would go for a witch on her broom.

Payne: Nah. Elissa would expect that. I would want to carve something crazy and complicated, and different to everyone else. Luca would love it.

Felicity: And the battle for Father of the Year heats up. *grins* You guys should have a Halloween party. It would be fun to carve pumpkins together for a bit of friendly competition, and then dress up as other species for an evening of socialising and scary movies, wouldn’t it? If you held it here, at the theatre, even the kids could attend and you wouldn’t need baby sitters.

Antoine: *sighs*

Snow: It does have a certain amusing appeal.

Antoine: *glares at him* Do not take her seriously. We are not having a Halloween party.

Felicity: *looks around them all, noting the mischievous twinkle in their eyes* I think the vote is against you, Antoine. Everyone seems amused by the idea. A party might be just what you guys need after all you’ve been through recently. You can all blow off steam.

Sera: *pokes head around corner* Did someone say Halloween party?

Antoine: *grumbles* No. *gets to his feet and goes to her* You are meant to be resting.

Felicity: *leans back to see past him* How’s it going, Sera? He driving you insane yet?

Sera: *giggles* He is a touch overprotective, but I’m loving the fuss and attention. So we’re having a party, right?

Antoine: No. No party. And do not go off and put it into everyone else’s head in order to get your way.

Sera: *grimaces* It might be a little late for that… since I wasn’t the only one listening in.

Antoine: *pinches the bridge of his nose*

Snow: Aurora’s been hiding outside your office since before we began the interview. Haven’t you, Sweet?

Aurora: *appears on his lap and drops a kiss on his cheek* I would rock a vampire outfit, do you not think?

Snow: You have been spending too much time with Chica. You are starting to sound like her.

Aurora: I would make a good vampire though, wouldn’t I?

Snow: Absolutely. My little vampire bride. *nibbles her neck*

Felicity: This is going to degenerate into scenes best acted out in private and I have a party to plan. It’s time to introduce vampires to the fun side of Halloween. I hope you all enjoyed this trip to Vampirerotique to see what real vampires make of Halloween!
