Hi, everyone! Thanks so much to Lucy for inviting me over! And Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in the U.S.!
I’m really excited right now because I am just days away from the release of my latest novel, ANGEL OF DARKNESS. ANGEL OF DARKNESS will be out on 11/29/11—just in time for folks to be recovering from Black Friday shopping mania.
For today’s post, I wanted to talk about two of my favorite paranormal characters—angels and vampires. Angels are (usually) thought to be good, almost gentle creatures. Lots of people think that angels are guardians—always out there to watch over us.
And as for vampires? Well, they’re often the bad guys. They drink blood. Kill. Destroy. Burn in sunlight. Not exactly fun date material.
Vampires and angels seem to be very opposite beings, so, of course, since they’re so different, I was just dying to pair them up in a book. (And I did!). In ANGEL OF DARKNESS, my heroine is a vampire, but she isn’t evil. Or, at least, she’s trying very, very hard not to be.
My angel hero? Keenan? Well, he isn’t exactly gentleness and light. He’s an angel of death, and his primary job is to kill. Except when Keenan fails to take out his latest charge, he falls. In my books, fallen angels are some very, very dangerous beings. For them, the line between good and evil doesn’t always exist. Or if it does, they don’t care.
Two powerful supernatural beings. Ah…surely they were meant for love, right? Maybe. Let’s just say that the path toward true love is far from smooth for my vampire and angel. But, hey, to misquote a line from one of my favorite movies (The Princess Bride)…it’s true love—you think this happens every day? No, the real, powerful love doesn’t come around often, and when it does come to you, folks have to fight to hold on to it.
My angel and my vampire are about to fight. I hope you enjoy their battle.
Thanks for checking out my post! Do you have any favorite vampire or angel lore that you’d like to share with me? One commenter will be randomly selected to win ANGEL OF DARKNESS.
Best wishes,
Cynthia Eden

When an angel falls, all hell breaks loose…
Cynthia Eden is a national best-selling author of paranormal romance and romantic suspense novels. Her books have received starred reviews from Publishers Weekly, and her novel, DEADLY FEAR, was named a RITA® finalist for best romantic suspense.
Cynthia is a southern girl who loves horror movies, chocolate, and happy endings. She has always wanted to write (don’t most authors say that?), and particularly enjoys creating stories about monsters–vampires, werewolves, and even the real-life monsters that populate her romantic suspense stories.
Cynthia’s foreign sales for her books include translations to Japan, Germany, Thailand, and Brazil.
(Back in the day…) Cynthia graduated summa cum laude from the University of South Alabama where she studied Sociology (because people interest her) and Communication (because she likes to write about said people). Cynthia has worked as a college admissions counselor, a teacher, and as an editor. But now, Cynthia is thrilled to be spending her days making up stories.

I can’t wait to read this book – To put Vampires and Angels together is something special and have only found in one other book by Kerrelyn Sparks and her Love at Stake series.
There are so many Vampire series I read and follow that I just can’t choose one favorite Vampire Lore! Feehan, Kenyon, Bangs and you, just to mention a few!
I can’t think of any angel/vamp story or lore. So yours will be my first. I really can’t wait for my copy to arrive. I love the excerpt you posted. Thanks.

This mash up of vampires and angels sounds so interesting, and I definitely want to read this!!! I usually read a ton of vampire books, but I think Lestat de Lioncourt will always have a special place in my heart 🙂
Love me some sexy vamps….specifically Z from the Black Dagger Brotherhood.
This book sounds really good. Thanks for the giveaway!
First of all, I’m really excited about Angel of Darkness. The plot sounds great and I can’t wait to learn more about the characters. The lore I remember about fallen angels sounds about right to what u stated but I also remember being said that in order for an angel to retain his wings he or she will require the most ultimate sacrifice. And the angel only service was for his or her creator.
I’ve been hearing great things from the lucky ducks who got to read this book already. So dang eager to read it.
There are so many favorites to chose from, I love Z from Black Dagger Brotherhood, I think is is one of my all time favorites.
I’ve been waiting impatiently for this book. Hurry!
Really looking forward to reading this. And aside from the classic lore I really dont know much. So its all new to me.

I very much would like to read Angel of Darkness so I’m glad for this opportunity to perhaps win it. 🙂 Thank you.
Pam
I have always been fasinated with the tale of Dracula. I know it is just a story writen by Bram Stoker back in 1897 but it has always captivated me and fueled my love of Vampires. The Dracula, Wilhelmina “Mina” Murray, and Jonathan Harker dynamic was very intriguing to me.
I have been wanting to get my hands on a copy of Angel Of Darkness for a while now. I love that the Angel Of Death falls for a Vampire. It makes for a very interesting read, in my opinion. I am a big fan of Cynthia’s ever since her Night Watch Series. I would so love to win this book.
I’ve never read any of your books but this one I will have to pick up… Can’t wait till it comes out!! Good luck picking winners!!
I love vampires and have discovered my new love for angels, especially the Fallen bad boys. 😉 Can’t wait to read Angel of Darkness.
Thanks for the giveaway!
Book sounds awesome! Cover is smokin hot!! Putting it on my TBR list .Really need to get me a US address LOL
Im looking forward to reading this book. I really like the Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh which involves angels and vampires. She has a different take on it.
I love reading cynthia. Everytime i pick up one of her books i cannot put it down.
I am looking forward to this new book. I loved Immortal Danger and I’ll Be Slaying you. I alreay have the next one in that series.
I always think there are shades of good and evil. And you cannot say a “race” is all one way or the other. I always thought the idea of angels being so good, but fallen angels going to the dark side more about interpretation to keep mere mortals from exploring their more curious side.
Even as a kid I had a fascination with vampires. Throw in super hot fallen angels and I’m sold. To me there is no ultimate good or evil; there are sooo many shades of gray. I’m really looking forward to reading this book. Thanks for the opportunity.
