Review: Down the Rabbit Hole (Anthology) by J.D. Robb, M. Blayney, E. Fox, R.C. Ryan
Overall, I was disappointed with this book. Even as a big fan of the In Death series, the most I could give this collection was a “meh.”

Okay. Okay. Now I see what everyone is going on and on about. Like a kid hiding under the blankets with a flashlight, I snuck this one onto my overburdened TBR list and raced through it. This series definitely needs to be read, not listened to by audiobook!
[box style=”rounded” border=”full”]Wow! I need an ice cold shower. Who knew the end of the world could be so hot? Elle Kennedy’s incredible character development shines through that even in a world trying to survive after the bombs have dropped, you wouldn’t mind spending time with these outlaws. I have enjoyed this series, but I found it hard to connect with Jane. She is considered the true beauty of the group but unlike her sister or her parents, she didn’t want love. She wanted security. She came off very mercenary and a bit stupid.
How can I hate a book that features four of my favorite authors? Sorry, I can’t. When I saw my first promo for this anthology, I knew it was a must have.
Updated: As I get more into this series, I have gone back to the audiobooks, but I found the world building on top of the obscure legends and myths introduced in these first few books to be too much to focus on for audiobooks. I would recommend reading the first two novels and then switching over.
Updated: You should read the first two books and you can pick up audiobook again after you become more familiar with the world building and the characters.

This is my favorite series. Even after 41 novels, I am still excited each time one comes out. This is one of the more gruesome stories she has written in quite awhile. Once again, we know who the killers are and we watch as Eve, Peabody and their team try to put all the pieces together to find their latest victim before it is too late.
