My favorite boring vampire is back. I freakin’ LOVE Fred. I especially love Kirby Heyborne’s audiobook presentation, so much so that I waited an additional two months of the audiobook release before grabbing a copy of Blood Acquisitions.
As much as I love this series, after all the excitement of Book 7, this story was almost a let down. Was it still awesome? Hell yeah! Magic Breaks ended with a turning point in Kate and Curran’s lives and some of this story is setting down the new relationship.
If you a fan of the Kate Daniels series, this series will help fill the void between releases. It has magic, shifters and more creative world building. For those of you who like your paranormal with a side of fun, these are just that fun and witty and a overall quick read (or listen). Witchless in Seattle is a spin-off series but you don’t have to know the Paris, Texas series to start here.
I loved the energy in this book. Lainey’s excitrment and dedication for the game rejuvenated Gabe’s love for it and Gabe showed Lainey how she could enjoy life as well as be dedicated.
If you like graphic novels and superheroes, Drew Hayes gives an interesting twist to the education and training to become the next Hero.
Such a great Urban Fantasy series. You get a real feel for the growing loyalties of this groups of characters in this story. Where once Kate was all alone, several of the characters volunteer for this mission simply to protect Kate even knowing they are probably walking into a trap.

This was a fun, light-hearted urban fantasy series. Betsy is a good person but a bit shallow. She is more concerned with her footwear than her special status of Queen of the Vampires. The ridiculousness of it all makes it a fun read.
