Audiobook Review: Have Yourself a Merry Little Witness by Dakota Cassidy
This second book didn’t really hold my interest.

The Case of the Damaged Detective is for anyone who enjoys a buddy story.
Firefighter Steve is not so great at making choices since he started out at Simpson, CO in Search and Rescue before the murder and arson started, and he moved his kids to Monroe, CO at the beginning of Rocky Mountain K-9 Unit and that place went to hell and everything was blowing up, then he moves back to his hometown of Boone, CO and things aren’t any safer. Steve should have learned by now that all that snow makes people crazy and he should move his family somewhere warm.
Katee Robert was more creative with her seriel killer than she was with her main characters.
Katie Ruggle’s debut novel is exciting and sweet. It kept me up late into the night reading. I held on to an ARC offer for the next book, Fan the Flames, waiting to see what I thought of this one and I ran to my computer to download it even before I was halfway finished.
This is a case of don’t judge a series by it’s free novella. If I didn’t already have a copy of the first book, I might have stopped right here and missed out. It’s free. Grab a copy, but don’t let this so-so novella stop you from reading more.

I started this book awhile ago and had to keep putting it aside, but I was definitely intrigued enough to come back to it to get the final reveal of the murder and the motive.
This is my favorite series. Even after 41 novels, I am still excited each time one comes out. This is one of the more gruesome stories she has written in quite awhile. Once again, we know who the killers are and we watch as Eve, Peabody and their team try to put all the pieces together to find their latest victim before it is too late.
If you liked Fargo, either the movie or the TV series, you will like the writing of C.J. Box. This was my first novel from this author and at the very least, I want to read the prior novel, The Highway. Be warned, just like Fargo, it doesn’t hold back on the violence.
