This short novella was quite enjoyable and gives us some tropical seduction with Zachery and Annabelle. Enjoyable thought it is, it also focuses on the major flaw of the series.

I just love Molly Harper and her backwoods town of Half Moon Hollow. I was a bit annoyed to be left hanging after the novella I’m Dreaming of an Undead Christmas which was released in December of 2013 and left us hanging in the middle of Iris’s baby sister, Gigi Scanlon’s story. Although you could follow along without reading the novella first, I would definitely recommend starting with Undead Christmas or you’ll miss all the stalking vampire parts.
I am giving this story 3 stars with a caveat. This was a hard book to get through since author Shelley Laurenston is using a lesser known Pantheon, Norse Mythology, as the basis for her story. There was too much set up and yet not enough, and not enough focus on the two main characters. Lot of interesting characters were introduced but it feels like it will take several books to really get into this series.
Taken by a Dragon was definitely my favorite out of this series so far. With it’s “stranded together” premise, Loke and Anais have time to get to know each other and build a relationship. There is plenty of action before and after the get to know you’s to keep it exciting.
Of the books in this series that I have read, this is the shortest and my least favorite. Here was a case of insta-love and I just didn’t feel it with these two. Series-wise, we definitely could have skipped this one since the characters are unremarkable and it really didn’t do much to forward to series storyline.
We usually grab an anthology because if features an author or series that we are already familiar with. I believe that the job of the other authors in an anthology to bring a story exciting enough to entice a reader to read more of their works. I have been disappointed in the past where the authors absolutely failed to entice me to check out their series, but not here. I chose this because I am a fan of Nalini Singh’s Psy-changeling series. After reading this I have picked up an audiobook of Ilona Andrew’s Kate Daniels series and I have already read the first book in the Lisa Shearin SPI Files and have started Book #2.
I had been waiting for this one. Out of the four the Felicity is releasing in January and February, this is the one that caught my attention. It was only a novella, but I did enjoy it.
A little slow to start. Once we got to the adventure and the race between Iolanthe and Kyter to find the key to pull the demon Barafnir from hell, it definitely was exciting.
Kerrelyn Sparks takes us out with a bang. Russell and Jia fight each other for the honor of killing the Master Han. Once they finally decide to work together, they find they have more in common than just revenge.
It’s finally here and I am thrilled and heartbroken. This is the conclusion to the Dark Protectors series and the one we have been waiting for since the very beginning. Janie is psychic and has known from the time she was four that she would be a pivotal character in the final solution for the war between the vampires, kurjans, demons and witches. We’ll finally see if the end of the war comes down to Janie, Zane and Kalin as promised.
