Review: Craved by an Alpha by Felicity Heaton
I had been waiting for this one. Out of the four the Felicity is releasing in January and February, this is the one that caught my attention. It was only a novella, but I did enjoy it.

I hesitated on this Urban Fantasy series since the main character, Charley Davidson, is a grim reaper. I had thoughts of a cloak and sickle and couldn’t imagine why everyone thought it was so entertaining. After about a dozen glowing recommendations, I downloaded an audible copy and have to agree with those reviews. Charley is snarky, witty and delightful.
The werewolves are now out to the humans. With the world watching anything that might show the danger of werewolves, any transgressions which might have been dealt with a rolled up newspaper, now require a death sentence. Killing wolves who break the rules is up the Charles, as his father’s enforcer, but killing wolves who normally would have been given a warning is wearing on Charles and his relationship with Anna is suffering for it.
A little slow to start. Once we got to the adventure and the race between Iolanthe and Kyter to find the key to pull the demon Barafnir from hell, it definitely was exciting.
I was asked to review this book which is the 3rd in the series. Whatever enjoyment I had with the characters was overshadowed by the fact that I stepped into a story with it’s own world building and the author made little to no attempt to catch up late comers to the series.
As exciting as the whole werewolf politic issue is, what I love best is watching Anna and Charles trying to build their relationship. It has only been a few weeks since Charles has returned from Chicago with Anna, but he is starting to break down some of her barriers and they are strengthening their bond. They are such opposites but they are definitely mean to be together.
Kerrelyn Sparks takes us out with a bang. Russell and Jia fight each other for the honor of killing the Master Han. Once they finally decide to work together, they find they have more in common than just revenge.
Charles Cornick and Anna Latham are such opposites that they are the perfect couple. Charles brings a stability and a sense of safety to the abused woman, and Anna brings out a humanity that no one usually sees in Charles. I am loving this couple and am enjoying them as much as the Mercy Thompson series.
It’s finally here and I am thrilled and heartbroken. This is the conclusion to the Dark Protectors series and the one we have been waiting for since the very beginning. Janie is psychic and has known from the time she was four that she would be a pivotal character in the final solution for the war between the vampires, kurjans, demons and witches. We’ll finally see if the end of the war comes down to Janie, Zane and Kalin as promised.
