Cynthia Edens adds an interesting new creature to her paranormal world, the phoenix. Genesis is a laboratory under contract with the government working with paranormal volunteers to understand and help the paranormals find a cure. I am sorry that I didn’t start this series from the beginning. I loved Mary Elizabeth and the finale of this series would have been sweeter if I had been here from the beginning.
I think this series is adorable. Maybe it is just how the narrator plays with it. This was a much shorter story than the other and while it had fun aspects, there wasn’t much to it and yet it had a more convoluted plot.

I have mixed feelings about the story. There was a lot to introduce as far as this new world and just as it got going, it ended. There are a few more stories in the series and I might give the next book a try to see where it goes.
I enjoyed the chemistry of the main characters. It was just the conflict which caused a great deal of painful eye rolling.
I just couldn’t take the heroine’s stupidity and her constant need to be rescued.
This is an audiobook love. I think the narrator is perfect to bring this quirky, fun series to life.
